Bakery/Deli Manager

Location: Food Store Vanderhoof, BC.

Job Overview: Reporting to the Food Store Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Cultivate a team that embodies our Co-op brand values: Locally Invested, Community-Minded, and Lifetime Membership Benefits.
• Collaborate with the Food Store Manager to develop operating plans, budgets, and adjustments to meet or exceed department goals.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory management, invoicing, and pricing strategies to optimize sales and margins while maintaining minimal shrink.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety programs and asset protection protocols.
• Manage scheduling, daily workload delegation, and team performance, including hiring, training, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Attend management and training meetings as required and work cooperatively with other departments and suppliers.
• Handle and prepare bakery/deli products according to company standards and food safety protocols.
• Perform regular heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.

What You Bring:

• Grade 12 Required. Diploma in Business or equivalent experience. 
• Minimum of 5 years leading and managing teams/direct, preferably in a related or service industry
• Experience with planning, budgeting, and operating statements
• Knowledge of Food Store industry and inventory control procedures

• Strong computer skills and technical knowledge

• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
